:: RENDER TRIMS - FIXING INSTRUCTIONS

All trims and surfaces must be free from dust and contaminates

RENDER EXTERNAL TRIM FIXING

Render Trims should be fixed in accordance with the system or render manufacturer’s directions which is usually adhering the trims with the applicable render compound or cement based construction adhesive making sure the cement based adhesive fully covers the substrate & the trim to obtain complete adhesion between the two surfaces.

REVEAL & SILL TRIM FIXING

Fix in accordance to the system or compound manufacturer’s recommendations making sure the cement based adhesive fully covers the substrate & the trim to obtain complete adhesion between the two surfaces.
Where Reveals & Sills are exposed to full sun, where dark external colours are to be used or the Reveal or Sill is over 75mm wide we recommend to fully render the reveal or sill using a PTT Render external angle such as 42-RE-01 – adjustable angle or 42-RE-2.5, 42-RE-3.5, 42-RE4.5, 42-RE-6 which ever suits the required render build.

SEALING BETWEEN TRIMS & WINDOWS / SGD

Render Reveal & Sill Trims should be wiped clean using a dry clean cloth and flashed with an acetone cleaner (e.g Bostik 5077or Sika-Cleaner 205) and sealed between the trim and the framing with Bostik Seal & Flex, Sikaflex-521 UV or Fixseal MSP15 (Metholated Spirits can be used as a cleaner for Fixseal MSP15only).

STORING OF TRIMS

Plaster Trims should be stored flat and below 25°C and free from dust and contamination.

WARRANTY

Plaster Trims & Tape (PTT) warrants its products to be free of defaults in materials and manufacture for 10 years. If a PTT product does not meet our standard, we will at our option replace or repair it or supply an equivalent product.
PTT will not be liable for any application failures, care must be taken to follow your system recommendations for fixing and adhering any PTT product.
PTT products are only one component of any system therefore the responsibility is on the contractor to follow the systems instructions. Any claim shall be deemed waived unless made in writing to PTT within 30 days from the date it was purchased from PTT or a PTT distributor.

:: PLASTERBOARD ANGLES

FIXING INSTRUCTIONS

All angles and surfaces must be free from dust and contaminates

PLASTERBOARD ANGLE FIXING

PTT Plasterboard angles fixed to plasterboard and fibre cement sheeting should be fixed in accordance with the plasterboard and fibre cement manufacturer’s recommendations usually using a spray adhesive such as 3M Super 77 or equivalent, plaster based cement or rust proof fasteners.
